iPad is coming. April 3. Pre-order or reserve yours today. That was the subject of the email I received today from Apple. Just in January announced and then on the 3rd of April shipment will start.
Will I order one? I think not. Just looking at the design and how it behaves, yes, I want to have one. Looking at the flaws, I just say no. The device has to fill the gap between the iPhone and the Mac. For sure, it fits in perfectly, it is bigger than an iPhone and is easier to carry around than a Mac but still; it can’t multitask (c’mon Steve!!), you can’t swap the battery (looking forward to the EU directive on this one) PLUS you can’t tether (Steve even confirmed this)
Sorry to see that they try to market such a great device with such a limit functionality. I would expect better from Apple but I guess we just have to wait a few more years before Apple finally listens to the public.
If despite the shortcomings you still want to order an iPad outside the US and you need a US shipping address or VPN access give these a try;
- US Shipping address (including an US credit card and phone number)
- VPN access in the US
