Also, could you post the system-infos later, would be interesting to see if they are the same like the I/O-Qs

+Arvid Bux that (but you'll have to side-load a launcher to view it) or you fetch the /system/build.prop via adb
You will have to activate USB-debugging either way. Since it's not so obvious: You have to activate USB-debugging on your phone/tablet before you can activate USB-debugging for the Q in the Nexus Q app.
I think you could also start the settings app directly via adb but I'm not sure what the correct intent to call would be
