So tasty!
What is your favorite foreign snack/food?
The Scone is a small British quick bread, traditionally hailing from Scotland. They are usually made of wheat, barley or oatmeal, with baking powder as a leavening agent. The scone is a basic component of the cream tea or Devonshire tea. It is generally speaking similar to but different from both a tea cake and a currant bun.

Much love for scones!
Scones are OK but New York Bagels are quite nice also.
Toasted Tea Cakes are the best though. With a nice cuppa tea of course
I never had New York Bagels, what makes them so great? I've been living in London for 4 years now and really love scones, they're one of the best things you can get in this country
Well it's a Bagel made by an outfit called "New York Bagel Company". Probably about as much in common with the real thing as I do to the Pope. Tea Cakes are good though; try one toasted when you get a chance!
Where do you buy them?
Anywhere
Most of the major supermarkets stock them. Tesco does both the Bagels and decent large Tea Cakes
. If you not familiar with Tea Cakes then look like a large hot cross bun, but without the cross (no religious connection I guess). Cut them in half and toast each side.
Morrison's does tend to make better bread though; although any decent proper bakery will beat either of them for taste.
I love scones. Visit 'de Bakkerswinkel' when you are in Utrecht, they have tasty scones
